HitCap V2 - An interview on how DOIO redesigend their HitPad caps
"HitPad V1 series featued threaded caps with excellent tactile feel, strong friction, and unique tactile feel. However, with the launch of V1, the user feedback on threaded caps is mixed."
"We were informed that our V1 caps has high edges, making it difficult to swipe across; and that extended use is likely to leave white marks on the threads on the front of the caps. Besides these, the manufacturing process of the threaded V1 caps also made it harder for us to sqeeze our sale price."
"Thus, we decide to make a complete overhaul to the V2 HitCaps. To address the issue of high edges, we made the keycaps easier to press by adding a rounded bevel to each HitCap. We also renewed the texture of the keycaps in response to the feedback. The aim is to achieve precise control, quicker triggering and coumfortable touch at the same time. The result is our new HitCap V2: A larger contact area on the front, fine matte PBT finish to prevent slipping, smooth bevel curvature for quicker hit and more comfortable touch."
“We have also received requests for multi-color customization options for keycaps to match the CNC aluminum alloy multi-color top cover of our HitPad, and more customization options to make the our device more tournament-ready."
"In response to these players‘ needs, we tried our best to recreate a customizable cap series. The results are HitCap V2 ALU, colorful aluminum version of our v2 HitCaps, and HitCap V2 NULL, competition specialized caps that deactivate buttons to meet tournament requirements"
"We believe with our focus on our competitive-gaming communty, we can continue to create amazing new products and win our users more games."
